RE: Adding external SATA hard drive to Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8240HDV DVR box

I read quite a few posts by him while I was struggling to get info on the SA Explorer 8240HDC. Even info directly from SA (now CISCO) was incorrect due to age (COX originally used SARA firmware, then switched to PASSPORT ECHO) so the process to get the external eSATA recognized changed. Also, only info I got from a COX techie (in San Diego) was some out-dated hard drives which had been tested and worked. Far far too much incorrect info floating around out there in cyber space, certainly lots about external drives & COX provided DVRs.
